Press Release in Singapore General Hospital
Singapore, 28 February 2006
CADI SCIENTIFIC wireless sensing and tracking system was implemented in Singapore General Hospital
(SGH) in a
pilot project known as Project Vega.
During the trial, patient's temperatures and locations can be tracked wirelessly, automatically and continuously using a small disc-like device called ThermoSENSOR.
The objective of this project is to monitor the feasibility of integrating such a wireless system in the hospital to improve patient care, to reduce nurses' workload, to retrieve real-time patients' information and to prepare the hospitals for the influenza pandemic.
Project Vega was featured in The Straits Times, Tuesday, February 28, 2006 Home section. A patient who had just undergone a knee replacement surgery commented: "Having the disc pasted on my tummy was very convenient...The nurses didn't have to keep waking me up at intervals to take my temperature and I was able to sleep without any interruption.".
The press release at SGH was also aired on the following Singapore MediaCorp channels: Channel NewsAsia, Channel 8, Channel U and
Suria.
