The Enterprise Challenge Awards 2004
Singapore, 13 October 2004
The Enterprise
Challenge (TEC) of the Prime Minister's Office is a $29 million fund set up
to provide sponsorship for innovative proposals that have the potential to
create new value or significant improvements to the delivery of public
services. TEC provides sponsorship of funds and test beds for such
innovations that need to be trial tested so that their feasibility and
practicality can be proven.
Dr Goh Zenton, CEO of
Cadi Scientific Pte Ltd and Mr Tan Boon Chin, Executive Director of SI
Group of NEC Solutions Asia Pacific Pte Ltd proudly received The
Enterprise Challenge Innovator Award from Mr Lim Siong Guan,
Head of Civil Service of Singapore, during the Public Service for the
21st Century - ExCEL Convention and Award Ceremony 2004. This ceremony
was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held at the Ministry
of Education.
The title of proposal
for this award is Wireless Automated Temperature Detection System.
This system, also known as ThermoSense Pro is a wireless automated
temperature tracking system for use in hospitals. This system was
successfully piloted in Singapore General Hospital, the Enterprising Agency
Award Winner for this proposal.
With ThermoSense Pro,
hospitals can now have peace of mind. By continuously measuring, recording and
analyzing inpatients' body temperatures 24/7, patients can now enjoy
uninterrupted rest while nurses are relieved of their menial duties to
concentrate on more demanding tasks. As ThermoSense Pro inherently traces
and monitors inpatients' movements, patients exact locations are identified
at any time too.
