SmartSense-800 Contact Tracing Module

Description

One of the important strategies of public health authorities to contain the spread of a contagious illness is to quarantine those persons who have been exposed to an infectious agent and therefore may become infectious. Thus, in preparation for the pandemic outbreak, there is a need for an automated contact tracing system to be put in place for effective quarantine.

Now, with the easy-to-implement SmartSense-800™ contact tracing module, hospital administrators, epidemiology or infectious disease control department can have peace of mind as the accurate and optimized list of persons exposed to an infectious person can be retrieved online with just a click.

This automation effectively minimizes the human error associated with the tedious and laborious manual recording system; it also effectively reduces the undesirable effect of having to quarantine more number of persons than necessary.

Usage Scenario

All patients and hospital staff will wear a SmartTAG-800™ sensor around their wrist using a wristband. The sensor with its unique ID will automatically transmit the personnel's location information to the central server.

Each personnel's location information (together with date and time information) during his/her stay in the hospital will be recorded in the central server. Thus if a patient is suspected of being infected by a contagious disease, administrators can enter the patient's sensor ID into the CADI SmartSense™ system to track down the list of people who came in contact with the infected patient easily.
