SmartSense-800 Temperature and Location Module
Description
Patient's temperatures and locations can
now be measured and tracked automatically, wirelessly and
continuously via a small disc-like sensor comfortably pasted on
the body. This system helps to minimise unnecessary contact
between the patients and healthcare providers. This is the ideal
solution to contain the outbreak of contagious disease. Patients
would have uninterrupted rest, especially after surgery, since
their temperatures are being measured comfortably. Clinicians
can now monitor the patients' temperatures anytime, anywhere and
can be immediately alerted for timely treatment if patients'
temperatures go out of normal range. Nurses no longer need to go
through the tedious, repetitive and manual process of taking
patients' temperatures, charting the values on paper and keying
them into the hospital information system.

Usage Scenario
All in-patients will be pasted with a
ThermoSENSOR-800™ on the lower abdomen. The sensor with its
unique ID will transmit patients' temperature values and
location information automatically and continuously to the
central server.
Nurses will monitor the temperature and
location data from the nursing station. At the same time, nurses
and doctors can also retrieve patients' real-time or history
temperature data (values and charts) and location information
easily from the computer or any portable devices such as PDA or
tablet PCs (as long as it is connected to the local hospital
network).
If a patient develops a high fever, the
system will send a audio alert as well as a visual on the
screen. Automatic alerts via SMS/Email to respective caregivers
can also be configured easily.

module and location module is installed at the same time, both
temperature and location information may be transmitted by the
ThermoSENSOR™. No separate sensor (SmartTAG-800™) for location
tracking is needed.
