SMN-800 SmartNODE-800™ is part of the SmartSense Wireless Vital Signs and Location Tracking System. The system is designed for wireless and automated measurement and recording of patient vital signs and for location tracking of patients and high-value assets.

SmartNODE-800™ is a LAN-enabled receiver node for receiving data transmitted by the SmartSense series of wireless sensors and monitors. It then uploads received data to the SmartSense Software Engine via its built in Ethernet LAN interface.

The receivers are to be installed at strategic locations in the hospital in a manner to meet the specific coverage requirement of the user. The nodes are Ethernet LAN capable and thus lend themselves well to deployment using standard Ethernet LAN equipment and infrastructure.

The following diagram shows how SmartNODE-800™ is deployed in a typical SmartSense System configuration. The ThermoSENSOR-800™s or SmartTAG-800™s wirelessly transmit data to any SmartNODE-800™ that is in range. SmartNODE-800™ will in turn upload the data to the SmartSense software engine via a standard Ethernet LAN infrastructure. The system further comprises a SmartSWITCH-800™ that is used for activating and de-activating the sensors or tags.
